Limpopo man “kills” ex-girlfriend’s new lover, while another released on bail is still on the run
A 25-year old man has been arrested for house robbery and murder he committed at his ex-girlfriend residence in Mahwelereng outside Mokopane, Limpopo, in the early hours on Monday.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, said the suspect gained to entry through a window of the house where his ex-girlfriend and her 28-year old boyfriend were sleeping at Extension 19.
“The ex-girlfriend reportedly screamed and alerted her boyfriend about the intruder, and the fight ensued between the two men. The suspect suddenly took out a sharp object and stabbed the boyfriend multiple times on the upper body.
“Afterwards, the 25-year old suspect fled the scene on foot and took the cellphone of his ex-girlfriend valued at R2 500,” Mashaba said.
He said police went to the suspect’s residence and searched his premises where they found the clothes he was wearing at the time of the incident together with a weapon suspected to have been used to commit the murder.
The suspect was then traced to his hideout in Mosesetjane village outside Mokopane where he was arrested, and he is expected to appear in court soon.
Meanwhile, police are hot on the heels of Hulisani Liphaswa whom they believe can assist in resolving the murder of his girlfriend at Madodonga village outside Makhado The victim in Limpopo on Saturday.
Liphaswa was released on bail the previous day on charges of rape and attempted murder.
The victim, identified as Rinah Malange (30), was found dead in her residence with a stab wound, and was hit with a hard object.
