A human head at the gate, a tied up body in the house, and a seriously injured mother and her 10-year old daughter was the gruesome scene police were confronted with at Tshidimbini village outside Thohoyandou, Limpopo, on Monday.

He said police seized items which included a hammer, spade and knife believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.
“The motive behind the incident is still unknown at this stage, but domestic violence cannot find be ruled out,” Mashaba said.
The incident comes a week after a mother cut off the head of her 18-year old wheelchair-bound son in Leshikishiki village outside Lebowakgomo, Limpopo.
The mother, Stephina Safekwane Chuene (48), is expected to appear again in the Polokwane magistrate court for bail application on Thursday.
