Man who bound his biological father and set him alight sentenced to 20 years in prison for murder
A Limpopo man who tied his biological father with electric cables and set him alight has been sentenced to 20 years for murder.
The Senwabarwana regional court noted that Noko Alfred Sehata (21) killed his father in a gruesome manner.
The body of the father, Mokoena Bartlet Sehata (56), was found bound and set alight under a tree 14 March 2022.
Community members assisted the police in tracing the suspect.
Provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant Thembi Hadebe, has welcomed the sentence, saying it matched the severity of the brutal act.
