Polokwane in a 36-hour planned water shutdown, reservoirs expected to fully recover on Wednesday
POLOKWANE in Limpopo is in a 36-hour planned water shutdown for the commissioning of refurbished pipelines, Lepelle Northern Water has announced.
The bulk water supplier has embarked on the upgrading of all critical pipelines from the Ebenezer and Olifanntspoort Schemes, and the project is expected to be completed next month.
“This ongoing effort to upgrade is to ensure long-term reliability of water supply infrastructure. The newly refurbished pipeline will significantly improve efficiency of water delivery and reduce the likelihood of future disruptions,” the entity said in statement.
Water is expected to flow to the taps on Wednesday once the reservoirs have been filled.
