Man on the run for a year arrested for murder over car sale deal that went horribly wrong
A 42-year old Limpopo man has been arrested in connection with last year’s incident in which a victim was shot on the forehead following a car sale deal that went horribly wrong.
According to police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Thakeng, the incident happened on Saturday 6 January 2024 at Morwasetla village in the Tzaneen area. The suspect was arrested on Saturday 4 January 2025 – a year after he has been on the run.
A victim apparently sold a Ford Ranger bakkie to the suspect, a resident of Matipane village, who still owed money to settle the payment.
The victim allegedly had an appointment with the suspect at Morwasetla village where he was shot dead.
Thakeng said the suspect was subsequently arrested on Saturday following an intelligence driven operation conducted by the provincial murder and robbery unit, Tzaneen tracking team and Mopani tracking team.
