Missing traffic officer found strangled to death on a mountain, three men and a woman arrested
THREE men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the murder of a traffic officer whose body was discovered on a mountain at Ha-Makhuvha village, Vhembe district, in Limpopo.
The officer, Mbulaheni Patrick Netshidzivhani, who was attached to Mutale Traffic Station, went missing on Sunday. He left home to do his routine fitness exercises at Khungoni mountain and never returned.
Police investigation led to the recovery of his vehicle and the subsequent arrest of three men and a woman who reside in the same area with the traffic officer.
Provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, said detectives will work hard to and get to the bottom of the case. She described the incident as “senseless and brutal killing”.
In Mashishing village, Sekhukhune district, a police officer was attacked by five armed men when he was parking his vehicle at home on Tuesday.
The officer was shot twice before the armed men flee the scene with his service pistol and two cell phones.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, sad maximum resources have been mobilised to track down the suspects.
