How a sadistic stepfather was exposed and sentenced to life imprisonment

THE Groblersdal Regional Court in Limpopo has sentenced to life imprisonment a 60-year old stepfather who inflicted unimaginable pain for several years to a minor girl who became pregnant at the age of 15.

The acts of the stepfather that almost bordered on sadism were exposed back in early 2022 when the girl decided to report an assault incident. The stepfather was arrested and tried in court.

During the trial, the prosecutor when questioning the girl became suspicious and requested further investigation by the Groblersdal Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS).

The investigation revealed how the girl suffered unimaginable pain since she was 11-years old when they were still living in Middleburg.

The stepfather would wait until she returned from school and then rape her. She was subjected to assaults, sometimes kept under lock and key and at some stage had her private parts cut with a razor.

She fell pregnant at the age of 15 years and was forcefully taken to Dennilton RDP Phase 2 by the stepfather.

The stepfather was positively linked to the crimes and again arrested in December 2022. He was denied bail until he was sentenced to life imprisonment on Tuesday this week.

Provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, applauded the investigating officer, Sergeant Lethuba Tsheola, saying he played a role in bringing the stepfather to justice.

“This sentence serves as a reminder that justice will be served, no matter how long it takes,” Hadebe said.
