THE most wanted suspect allegedly involved in over 17 serious and violent crimes has been shot dead following a shootout with police at Ga-Komape village in the Moletjie area, Limpopo.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said different police units conducted an intelligence-driven operation on Tuesday afternoon, tracing a 36-year old wanted suspect linked to violent crimes in the Hlanganani area between 2022 and 2025.
“During the operation, on arrival of the team at the identified address, team members acted swiftly, and the suspect came out from one room firing gunshots towards the police, whereby they retaliated, and the suspect aged 36 was fatally shot,” Ledwaba said.
He said an inquest docket has since been opened at the Seshego police station and the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) was notified.
